Community Highlights
Open House & Ribbon Cutting — July 29
LCE welcomed the community for an open house and facility tour, showcasing the great work happening at their shop every day. A ribbon cutting with the Higginsville Chamber of Commerce also celebrated the opening of LCE’s new Employee Outside Break Area, funded through proceeds from the 1st Annual Piccadilly, held in 2025.
I-70 Truck Parking Expansion Groundbreaking — August 26
LCE joined the groundbreaking ceremony for the I-70 truck parking expansion project at the Concordia Rest Area. LCE has held the janitorial services contract for the Concordia Rest Area and Odessa truck parking lot for many years. Lafayette County has more miles of I-70 — over 33 — than any other single county in Missouri, and this expansion will add 255 truck parking spaces to help reduce trucks parking on ramps and in lots when drivers are required to pull over for mandated sleep breaks.
Family Resource Night — September 15
In partnership with all of the Special Educators in Lafayette County and Lafayette County Bridging Support Services, LCE is hosting a Family Resource Night. Vendors will be split between two locations, with tours available at each, all aimed at connecting parents and community members with resources for their kids… and helping families access those services sooner rather than later.
2nd Annual Piccadilly Dinner and Auction — Saturday, October 24
Save the date! This year’s Piccadilly Dinner and Auction is open to both men and women. Proceeds will fund new work tables and water fountains for LCE employees.
